Where the desk is
The newsletter service Fort Lauderdale businesses can drive to.
Every issue we ship is written, laid out and proofed here in Fort Lauderdale. If you’re in Broward, you can sit across a table from the person doing the work.
This is the desk, not a sales territory
Blue Ocean Strategies is run out of Fort Lauderdale. Not a regional office, not a rented address on a contact page. It’s where the interviews get recorded, where the four pages get laid out, and where the proof gets read before anything goes to print.
That matters less than local agencies usually pretend, and we’ll say so on this page. But in Broward it does buy you one real thing: we can meet.
What Broward business actually looks like
Fort Lauderdale is the Broward County seat, and a lot of the professional economy is arranged around that fact. The courthouse complex sits downtown, and the firms that work it — family law, personal injury, probate, criminal defense, real estate closings — are clustered within a short walk of it or straight up Federal. The Broward County Bar Association is here, and if you practice in this county you already know half the people in the room at their events.
Then there is the water. Port Everglades, the marine trades, yacht service and brokerage, and the boat show every autumn that reorganizes half the city’s calendar. Those businesses run on referral and reputation, which is exactly the kind of business a mailed newsletter is built for.
And the ordinary rest of it: dental and medical practices, insurance agencies, contractors, accountants, the salon on the corner of a plaza. Those are our clients too.
The meeting is the local advantage — that’s the whole list
Honest version: most of what we do needs nobody in the room. We serve clients in fifteen states and the District of Columbia, and none of them have met us. The interview happens on a call. Approvals happen by email. The mail house does not care where anyone sits.
What being local changes is the start and the awkward parts. A first meeting where you can read someone’s face. A stack of your old brochures handed across a table instead of photographed badly. A conversation about a difficult issue that goes better in person than over a call.
If you’re outside Broward, you are not getting a worse product. You’re getting the same product without the coffee.
What we send out of here every month
The flagship is a four-page newsletter, ghostwritten in your voice. You give us about twenty minutes on a call; we write it, design it, print and mail it, and publish a digital flipbook edition plus an email version the same week.
You can also take it digital only, which costs less — flipbook and email, no print and no postage. Firms that want to start small usually start there and add print once they’ve seen a few issues land.
- Print and digital newsletters, monthly or every other month.
- Email campaigns and automated follow-up sequences.
- CRM setup in GoHighLevel, including missed-call text-back.
- Google, Meta and YouTube advertising, above a real minimum budget.
- AI receptionists, booking agents and intake automation.
- Basic web, blog and local SEO.
Print and postage are billed to you at cost
We don’t mark up paper or stamps. The print and mail bill comes through at what the production partner charges, and it scales with your list — a big Broward mailing list can cost more than the service itself in a given month.
We would rather tell you that on this page than in month two. If the postage math doesn’t work for your list, digital only is not a consolation prize.
One person, on purpose
There’s no account manager layer here. The person you meet in Fort Lauderdale is the person who interviews you, writes the issue and answers when something is wrong.
That’s a real constraint as well as a selling point. We take on a limited number of newsletter clients because the production calendar is finite, and we’ll tell you if we’re full or if what you need is a channel we don’t run. We do not do social media management, in Broward or anywhere else.
What happens if you get in touch
Tell us what the business is and who your list is made of. We come back with a plan and a number, and if the honest answer is that you don’t need a newsletter yet, we say that.
- A short call, or coffee somewhere in Broward if you’d rather.
- We look at your list, your brand and whatever you’ve sent out before.
- You get a written plan with a price and a ship date.
- If you say yes, the first interview is about twenty minutes.
Questions
The things people ask before they hire us.
Yes, and in Broward that’s easy to arrange. Coffee near the courthouse, your office, wherever suits. It’s the one thing a vendor three states away can’t do, so we don’t make it hard.
No. We work with clients across fifteen states and the District of Columbia. Fort Lauderdale is where the work is produced, not the limit of who it’s produced for.
About twenty minutes a month. That’s an interview call, plus reading a proof and saying yes or asking for a change. Everything else is on us.
Yes, through a production partner, and it’s billed to you at cost with no markup. If you’d rather skip it, the digital-only version is a real option at a lower price.
No. We stopped offering posting and community management. If that’s the main thing you need, we’re the wrong shop and we’ll say so early.
